If you haven’t made it yet, you’re still in luck!
The North American International Auto Show 2018 is still open to the public through Sunday. The NAIAS is a huge event, charity, and unveiling of all the new automobiles for 2018. Every year there are three top automobiles awarded by class. The Honda Accord was awarded “car of the year.” The Volvo XC60 was awarded “crossover of the year,” beating out the Honda Odyssey. “Truck of the year” went to the new Lincoln Navigator, beating out the off-road Colorado ZR2 and the Ford Expedition.
With new technology exploration in today’s world, we’ve been seeing more and more of the electric and hybrid cars taking over the scene. Why not, when you can charge up and go, and help preserve the environment around us. These hybrid and electric cars are becoming more popular with the economy as well as growing to larger sizes in body than the original EV1 created by General Motors in 1996. Some of the new released electric cars this year’s auto show are; 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, 2018 BMW i8s, and the 2018 Nissan Leaf EV and SL. If you’re looking to go green, you may want to consider some of these new options with higher power battery life which means you can drive longer distances on a single charge.
In 2020 Ford is looking to launch its first electric SUV called the MACH 1.
Everyone loves a hot new luxury car like the 2018 Lexus LC known for being a high-performance luxury sports coupe with either option of a 3.5 liter V6 hybrid power-train or a 471-horpsepwer V8 engine. And how about the Lexus LS with the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6? It’s sporting a 10-speed automatic transmission with option to send power to all four wheels or just rear. Too much pucker for your punch? The new 2018 Ford Mustang is loaded with V6 and a more efficient 2.3 liter turbocharged four cylinders; with quick-shifting, 10-speed automatic transmission that can be paired to either engine.
If you’re not so much into sports cars, some of my favorite SUV’s that have come out this year are the 2018 Land Range Rover Velar, 2018 Audi Q5, 2018 Ford Expedition, and the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The 2018 Toyota Camry comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense suite of advanced electronic aids and driver assistance technologies such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency breaking with pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist. Those are just a few of the many amazing newly released automobiles at the NAIAS this year.
