The North American International Auto Show is the first showcase of the year. The NAIAS features the newest concepts and designs in the future of automobiles from every manufacturer. This yearly extravaganza, held at Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit, unveils the hottest new releases on display for patrons to get an intimate look. Every year, the top three titles are awarded to the vehicles with the most points won on the first day of the event, placed in three different categories:
The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt electric car was named 2017 North American Car of the year, winning by 259 points over The Genesis G90, which made second place, followed by Volvo S90 Sedan in third.
This year the Ford F-150 Super Duty Truck was nominated as a finalist for the North American Truck of the year (built at the Ford Romeo Engine Plant) However, but lost by 171 points to the Honda Ridgeline, a midsize pickup, taking the title of 2017 North American Truck of the year. The new Ford F-150 took second with The Nissan Titan placing third.
The 2017 Utility Vehicle of the year went to the new Chrysler Pacifica Minivan, winning with a 300 point lead; leaving the 2017 Mazda CX9 in second place, followed by the new 2017 Jaguar F-Pace in third.
